Josh Hoskins, a 32-year-old football coach at Knightdale High School in Wake County, North Carolina, has resigned from his position following attention to a video on social media in which he proclaims “White Power” and “I still love you ni**ers!”

Has cancel culture struck again? How far back did internet sleuths have to go to find this out of context clip of a clearly now reformed man making a mistake?

Turns out coach Hoskins posted the video himself to Instagram recently (before wising/sobering up and deleting it) while celebrating a recent win at a bar. SMH.

In subsequent interviews, Hoskins hits pretty much every damn white person explanation (non-apology) cliche:

“Just to set the record, I’m not racist,”

“I don’t mean it in a negative way.”

“Once in a while, it slips”

The now-former coach says his black players not only were cool with his use of the slur but really wanted him to drop n-bombs: “They walk up to me and say: ‘Hey coach, just say it,” Hoskins told ABC.

Apparently school district superintendent Cathy Moore doesn’t feel the same, as she said “the language, the context is not OK. And unfortunately, social media will show you a piece of something but not all of something. And this man is an adult. And he should know better,” The district also noted that the coach had violated the code of conduct policy.
