Third-grade teacher arrested for being a coke dealer

WITCHITA – Heather K. Jones, 48, who teaches at Enders Open Magnet Elementary School in Wichita, was arrested last week on suspicion of seven counts of cocaine distribution, Lt. Lin Dehning of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department told the Wichita Eagle.

Award-winning teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student

SAN FELIPE DEL RIO –  Isaac Aldaco, 34, has been charged with indecency with a child and improper relationship between an educator and student. He’s been booked into Bexar County Jail with his bond set at $275,000.

Former Georgia teacher claims student tricked her into having a sexual relationship

GEORGIA – Therese Gunn struggled to keep her story straight after admitting to having a sexual relationship with one of her former students. The ex-teacher, once employed at South Gwinnett High School in Georgia, initially expressed remorse over what she’d done. However, not long after her confession, Gunn, 54, started singing a different tune. According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she pinned the blame on her 17-year-old victim, telling police he tricked her into being intimate.

Centralia High School Teacher Arrested on Drug Charges

CLINTON COUNTY –  A 63-year-old Centralia High School social studies teacher has been arrested by Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies on drug charges. James White of East 4th Street in Centralia was formally charged in Clinton County Court Monday with possession of 10 to 30 grams of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance.

Former Thurston Middle School band teacher sentenced to prison for relationship with student

LANE COUNTY – Matthew Woodford essentially traded a teaching career for a sex offender label. The former Thurston Middle School band teacher went to prison Monday, after a sentencing hearing in which he apologized to a student for luring her into an inappropriate relationship. Woodford, 34, told the girl that he hopes she will forgive him someday. But a judge said he considers Woodford’s crimes to be unforgivable. “It disturbs me to no end that people in authority abuse their power,” Lane County Circuit Judge Mustafa Kasubhai told Woodford in court. “As (public) servants, we are bound to a higher expectation of behavior, which you fell completely under.

Houston teacher indicted for sexual battery

HOUSTON – A school teacher has been indicted on one count of sexual battery after a Chickasaw County grand jury met earlier this week. Sheriff James Meyers said Lori Kilgore, of Houston, was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday. Kilgore was a high school teacher at the Houston School District until she was abruptly dismissed by the district last December. Circuit Court Judge John Gregory set Kilgore’s bond at $20,000 and she was released. Kilgore’s first court date has been set for Sept. 12 in Chickasaw County. Meyers said the grand jury indictment followed an investigation by the Mississippi Attorney General’s office, who presented the case to the grand jury on Wednesday. Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood is from Chickasaw County.
