Fox 8 Cleveland: Officers were called to the school at about 2:40 p.m. Thursday when one employee suspected another was under the influence of alcohol. Bay Village police said they administered a field sobriety test to 30-year-old Kara Donahoe, of Bay Village, then arrested her on disorderly conduct.
WALB News 10 Georgia: An Albany High School teacher has been arrested for drug possession. It happened last Tuesday after Dougherty County Schools Superintendent Dr. David Mosely got an anonymous phone call where a man said that Manxavier D. Greene had drugs in her car. Ms. Greene was interviewed by police and administrators, and said that she knew who the anonymous caller was; her ex-boyfriend, whom she said told her that he would “ruin her career,” because he was mad at her.
WRBL Russell County, Alabama: A former Russell County schools employee was arrested Friday for alleged sexual acts with a student. The Russell County Sheriff’s Office says via Facebook Jeremy Brock Bumgardner faces charges for School Employee Engaging in a Sex Act with a Student and Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child.
Las Vegas Review-Journal: Chad Jensen received a call from his daughter’s school Friday, the kind of call that gives every parent nightmares. It wasn’t the first time he had received such news. Jensen, already enraged that his 13-year-old daughter allegedly had been inappropriately touched by a teacher at Brown Academy, was alerted by Principal Wendy Phelps that a substitute teacher had just been accused of violating his 11-year-old daughter — along with two other girls — in a similar manner….Eleven Clark County School District employees have been arrested on suspicion of inappropriate behavior or sexual misconduct with students since July 2016.
WSPA 7 News South Carolina: A former Greenville County teacher has been arrested after police say she used cruel punishment techniques in her classroom. Donna Morgan Hughes, a former special education teacher at Woodland Elementary in Greer, was arrested in December by Greer Police for Unlawful Neglect of a Child and Assault and Battery. Police say that Hughes locked an autistic 5-year-old in a supply closet, with no lights, for 30 minutes as a punishment. Those warrants also say that Hughes dragged that child across the room out of a chair, injuring him.
FOX Carolina: A second grade teacher in Oklahoma is accused of bringing heroin to school and stealing money to buy drugs, according to authorities. Sapulpa police arrested 27-year-old Megan Sloan after she left her social media account open on another teacher’s computer on Monday. The teacher told police she found a conversation in which Sloan was talking about using and selling heroin, as well as pawning school items.
CBS Sacramento: School may be over for the week at Woodland High School, but the investigation into one of its teachers is just beginning. Scott Sorgent, 44, was arrested Friday morning on campus for allegedly having inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old female student. “At least one student was inappropriately touched in a sexually suggestive way,” said Lt. Aaron Delao, with the Woodland Police Department.
FOX 11 News Wisconsin: A Marion High School teacher was charged Friday with repeated sexual assault of the same child, and child enticement. Timothy Gast, 43, of Shawano, posted a $5,000 cash bond after his initial court appearance Friday in Waupaca County Court, court records show.
WBTV 3 North Carolina: A teacher in Iredell County was arrested Wednesday accused of touching students inappropriately. Neil David Krasnigor 57, is charged with seven counts of indecent liberties with a minor and one count of assault on a female. Deputies say Krasnigor is a teacher with Iredell-Statesville Schools. According to the district’s website, he teaches mathematics at Mt. Mourne Elementary School.
