TIFTON, GA – A 22 year veteran teacher has been arrested for intentionally kneeing a 4 year old special needs student and causing him to fall to the floor.

School surveillance video captured Amelia Stripling pausing briefly then pushing her knee into the students back. When he stood up she gave him another shove into a classroom.

An eyewitness said it appeared that the teacher’s kneeing was on purpose.

According to WALB 10 Stripling turned herself into authorities last Friday after they issued warrants for her arrest. She faces charges of 2nd degree cruelty to a child.

Schools spokeswoman Stacey Beckham told reporters the child was not injured.

The boy’s mother, Sarah Patterson, has retained an attorney.
